SETHS is a Texas nonprofit corporation managed and controlled by its seven (7) Member/Owner hospitals.  Formed in 1994, SETHS was created to operate a cost-effective, quality integrated healthcare delivery system to provide a continuum of health care services and products that offer greater efficiency, economy, quality and availability of services than the individual providers can offer alone. SETHS is operated in the same way as a rural utility cooperative:  it is democratically managed and controlled by its members and benefits its members in proportion to their participation.  This model ensures sustainability by creating both trust and consensus.
